Division of School Leadership

• Serve as a member of the Deputy Chancellor of School Leadership's senior leadership team to oversee data for the division, foster a culture of data-driven decision making, and promote cross-divisional collaboration to propel student achievement in 1600+ schools for all 1.1 million NYC students.
• Develop and implement comprehensive data reports for executive management, including City Hall and other City agencies, the Chancellor, First Deputy Chancellor, executive superintendents, and their teams.
• Coordinate with Central partner offices and external partners including Office of Performance and Evaluation, Division of Instructional and Information Technology, and New Visions to review policy, offer feedback on systems, advise on high-leverage data reports, and troubleshoot problems for borough/ citywide offices (BCOs).
• Collaborate on various high-level strategy, policy, and communications projects, such as negotiations with the principals’ union (CSA) on evaluations, staffing concerns around the on-going response to COVID-19, and providing feedback on large-scale Central communications to principals and field staff to thousands of staff.
• Data owner and steward, accountable for all Department of Education data on principal evaluation, principal placement, and tenure.
• Continue with responsibilities of Director of Strategy & Data, and Director of Data Analytics.

• Built targeted data reports for the division’s senior leadership to answer multifaceted questions, track key performance indicators and drive student achievement across the city.
• During the initial response to the COVID-19 crisis, served as a data lead, project manager, and communications support on several critical projects with urgent timelines including the creation of in-person Regional Enrichment Centers (REC centers), transition to 5-day in-person learning, and the First Deputy Chancellor’s mayoral briefings.
• Continued with and expanded on the responsibilities of previous role, Director of Data Analytics, to serve as a central data lead for the 9 executive superintendents and their BCOs, in addition to the superintendent teams.

Office of School Support and Supervision

• Served as the data lead for New York City’s 45 superintendents and their teams by providing data and dashboards for districts, data literacy training, and advocating for their data needs centrally.
• Analyzed, designed, and presented comprehensive data dashboards at superintendent meetings, collaborating cross-functionally to include data on students, staff, and schools (e.g., state test results, state accountability metrics, local school quality metrics, principal and teacher evaluations, suspensions, and attendance).
• Created a system and database to process and track all DOE principal placements, approximately 250 per year.
• Co-authored and implemented the Department of Education's policy on principal evaluation.
